Monkey Madonna plays with the image of Madonna and Child which is embedded in the Western European psyche, regardless of religious belief.

Monkey Madonna subverts the image. The mother is a monkey, from an ancient species that pre-dates homo sapiens. The pinks and reds in the stones flow like blood.

Monkey Madonna was commissioned by a private collector in the UK.
