This male torso was carved from a stunning river piece of Spanish alabaster, full of clear veins of stone.
The work was carried out in the studio of Jon Sait, high in the remote mountains of Aragon in the village of Canada de Benatanduz. This is a wild and rugged mountain area called the Maestrazgo.
The piece explores the interaction of curves and hard edges in the male body and the impact of light shining through the stone.
